Senior Accountant

Due to growth, our client, a well-known professional service firm is in search for a promotable Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position is ideal for the candidate who is highly self-motivated and has an excellent understanding of accounting principles. This is a hybrid role (approximately 60% working from home.)

Position Responsibilities:

• Assumes ownership of the month-end close processes with the Controller by performing monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis, resolving discrepancies, analyzing and recording accruals, financial statement analysis, and other related duties
• Helps streamline the accounting department to increase efficiencies within the company
• Assumes responsibility for all functions within general accounting, accounts payable and receivables
• Assisting with bank reconciliations and monitoring funds availability, and assisting in the preparation of weekly cash forecasts
• Completes balance sheet flux analysis and bring issues to management’s attention during close
• Establishes practices and procedures that work towards best practices and continuous process improvement
• Prepares audit schedules and works closely with the auditors to ensure timely completion of audit
• Participates in the annual budget and planning process
• Maintains and monitors ROI analysis related to capital projects
• Supports the risk management processes through ad hoc analysis
• Displays intellectual curiosity and willingness to make continuous improvement recommendations regarding own department and with operational stakeholders

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA candidate preferred
• Three plus years’ experience required
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

Compensation

• $90k+ with bonus potential
