Cost Accounting Manager

A leading industrial manufacturer is searching for a proactive, results-focused Cost Accounting Manager. The position will report to the company’s Chief Financial Officer and manage a small team of professionals. In this fully onsite position, the Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

Position Responsibilities:

• Assumes responsibility for the review, maintenance, and accuracy of all standard costs
• Computes actual labor and overhead rates
• Performs monthly journals relating to COGS
• Prepares monthly journal entries relating to COGS
• Audits the accuracy of cycle counts, investigates variances, and determines appropriate internal controls
• Reviews the adequacy of the inventory reserves
• Prepares budgeted COGS based on production forecasts and analyzes budget vs. actual variances, overhead rates, inventory turns, etc.
• Assists in the ongoing effort of an ERP implementation project as it pertains to costing and inventory modules

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA or CMA a plus
• Five plus years of manufacturing required
• Strong experience in a complex, standard-costing, discreet manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous ERP implementation experience preferred
• SAP or similar ERP experience required

Compensation:

• $120k+ with bonus potential
