Assistant Controller

An established service provider catering to the food and beverage industry is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional with proven leadership and team building skills! In this hybrid role, the Assistant Controller will lead a team and support the accounting operations of the company including functional responsibility over financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial systems.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs monthly financial close activities including updates and maintenance of the general ledger, analysis of account variances and reporting of results to management
• Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Oversees the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
• Assists in improving the accounting and financial reporting function by evaluating processes and implementing changes
• Maintains a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Issues timely and complete financial statements
• Collaborates with FP&A team on monthly financial variance analysis
• Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
• Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Seven plus years of accounting experience
• Four plus years of supervisory experience
• CPA preferred
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Large ERP systems experience preferred (SAP, Oracle or similar)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills

Compensation:

• $120k+ with bonus potential
