Assistant Controller

In this hybrid role, our client, an innovator in the commercial distribution and service industries, is looking for an entrepreneurially focused Assistant Controller to help support and to help lead the Company’s growth for many years to come. Only promotable candidates need apply! This role is intended to be promoted to Controller for the proven candidate after the first year of hire! This is an ideal position for someone who can describe him/herself as an intellectually curious professional driven by technology and possessing analytical and leadership capabilities. Reporting to the company’s CFO, the enthusiastic hire will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities:

• Provides direction and coordination of accounting operational functions
• Prepares the consolidation of financial data for accurate presentation of results
• Provides financial updates to senior management by analyzing and reporting key data points
• Participates in the preparation of fiscal and calendar year forecasts
• Assesses current accounting operations, offers recommendation of improvement, and implements new processes
• Evaluates accounting and internal control systems to maximize protection of company assets
• Collaborates with parent company and investors in the areas of regulatory reporting, tax matters, and compliance
• Supports the annual audit and tax work
• Works closely with the CFO to maintain and develop key external relationships

Ideal Experience Includes:

• Sage 300 or similar ERP experience
• Salesforce experience
• Prior ERP selection and implementation experience
• Inventory management and controls
• Heavy MS Excel use

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or MBA preferred
• Five plus years of relevant experience with prior mid-tier public accounting experience a plus
• MS Office skill proficiency with advanced knowledge of MS Excel (Including pivot tables, LOOKUPS, index/matching, etc.)
• Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills

Compensation:

• $100k+ with bonus potential and attractive benefits package
