Accounting Manager

A leading custom packaging designer is seeking a grow-minded Accounting Manager. With a highly respected client base, this company has produced cutting edge packaging for global Fortune 500 companies in the food and beverage, financial services, retail, and automotive industries. Reporting to the company's Controller, this onsite role will have the opportunity to work with other key areas in the company including Operations, Sales and IT.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice
  • Directs monthly closing activities including Excel based reports and management reporting packages
  • Performs GL account analysis
  • Evaluates overall company’s operations from a financial and accounting viewpoint
  • Evaluates the financial statements and reports for accuracy and identify problem areas and suggested methods of correction
  • Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts for the company
  • Maintains fixed asset log with depreciation and lapsing schedules for both book and tax
  • Monitors and reports daily cash flow
  • Assists with the day-to-day management of the Accounting Department
  • Provides staff with support and guidance in meeting departmental goals and objectives
  • Updates cost rates and standards in the system periodically for accuracy
  • Monitors and provides external auditors with all information required for a thorough and accurate review/audit
  • Prepares monthly sales tax compliance
  • Provides accounting support and assistance for other departments

 

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Five (5) plus years of strong accounting experience with an emphasis on a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of job costing with industry knowledge a plus

 

Compensation

  • $100k-$120k with bonus potential
